FINAL DAY OF THE JOINT MEETING BETWEEN EDU-ABCM, EU-ZW, and EU-AGM in Sweden

Friday, 13, 2025 marked the final day of the week-long meeting, which started on the 9th of June 2025 at KTH in Stockholm. On 10-11 June 2025, the meeting was held on the ferry between Sweden and Åbo (Finland). Lastly, the meeting was held at Mälardalen University in Västerås on 12-13 June 2025. Despite being the last day of the meeting, the program of the day covered a wide range of topics, from:

  •        Overview of Challenges
  •        Practical examples and hands-on training of how to run Challenge-Driven Learning
  •        Practical examples of how to write an EU CBHE application towards the EEDA concept
  •        Possibilities for translation of modules into different languages

The main highlights of the day were experienced when Prof. Valentina Zaccarias presented on Challenge Driven Learning (CDL). The presentation highlighted CDL as a teaching method of the 21st century in which the lecturer assumes the position of a coach. Unlike in the traditional method of teaching, the lecturer in the CDL method of teaching gives students the scientific method to solve problems. The method encourages students to think creatively. Students build up their knowledge and skills by working on a real-world problem, while at the same time, their solutions can have a positive impact on society.

Practical examples on how to run the Challenge Driven Learning and write the EU CBHE application towards the EEDA concept gave the delegates some hands–on training, which develops some 21st Century skills in their teaching. The images below are some of the photos taken during and after the meeting.
