World Engineering Day Commemoration at Chinhoyi University of Technology: Hosted by the School of Engineering Sciences and Technology

UNESCO celebrated World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development 2025 with an event on 4 March at its Headquarters in Paris. This year's celebration theme was "Unleashing the power of engineers to advance the Sustainable Development Goals''.

The School of Engineering Sciences and Technology at Chinhoyi University of Technology saw it fit to host a local Commemoration Event that brought local engineers, academics, students and school pupils and their teachers.  In accord with the World Engineering Day’s theme it was considered appropriate to talk about EU-ZW project interventions that support engineering education to produce engineers that can propel and advance sustainability.  A presentation on Challenge Driven Learning (CDL), Remote Labs and Quality Improvement Process (QIP) as initiatives that enhance engineering education and support sustainability through engineering solutions was done.

CDL, Remote labs and QIP, key impact – learner motivation (high quality learning materials provides memorable and entrenched experiences).
