Flipped Classroom: A Twenty-first Century Active Learning Pedagogy
News

Lwazi Sibanda, Paul Zvawanda, et al. presented a paper on " "Flipped Classroom: A Twenty-first Century Active Learning Pedagogy" which answered to the need of how to handle modular classes introduced three years ago in university system. The outcry was how can Lecturers manage to cover syllabi of courses. This lacked the student centredness that is necessary in this twenty-first century pedagogy. The paper highlighted the concept of inverting the Blossom Taxonomy leaving more time in class to focus on higher levels of learning. Pros and Cons were highlighted especially in the increased demand which was alleyed by the co-creation of modules in the EU-ZW project in EEDA collaboration of consortiums funded by the EU. The paper attracted much attention from participants of more than 37 Education institutions that attended the 4th Annual Education for Sustainable Development Interdisciplinary Research (ESDIR) Blended Conference held 16-18th Oct 2024 as the National University of Science and Technology in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
